Equestrian Community Responds to Australian Fires

This past week we've seen quite a bit of collective activism and generosity around fundraising for those affected by the Australian fires. While the devastation caused by these fires has been heartbreaking to watch, it is always encouraging to see the way our equestrian community comes together in times of crisis.

Here is a short round-up of some of the grass-roots efforts we've seen, along with links in case you are interested in showing your support!

Equestrian Fire Relief Australia: Started in an effort to support those in the Australian equestrian community who are being affected by the fires, this fund was created to provide emergency relief as well as moral support. With the support of Olympic and World Champion riders from all disciplines, funds raised from the campaign will go towards the distribution of economic aid and goods via local emergency and recovery committees in Australia. WIRES Emergency Fund: Those of you active on social media may have seen the release of special edition products from Hunt Seat Paper Company (a pin) and Dreamers & Schemers Socks (special edition socks). 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these products are being donated to WIRES, an Australian Wildlife Rescue. The Hunt Seat pin is still available, but it appears the D&S socks may have sold out.

Equestrian Bushfire Relief Initiative: Several equestrian businesses have united to form an initiative that rewards equestrians for donating to relief efforts. Simply donate to a registered charity of your choice (e.g., Equestrian Fire Relief Australia, Rural Fire Services etc.) and DM a screenshot of your donation receipt to @theriderspod to be entered into a raffle drawing of prizes from brands like Voltaire, Noelle Floyd and more. The drawing will be held on Saturday, January 18th.
